Chris Evans at CarFest South
Since Chris Evans announced he was leaving BBC Radio 2, there have been a few changes announced for the festival. It no longer solely benefits BBC Children in Need but now supports a range of UK Children’s charities, including The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Teenage Cancer Trust and Rainbow Trust.
50% of profits still go to Children in Need and the other charities receive 10% of the total funds raised.

This year CarFest celebrated the 40th anniversary of Jody Scheckter’s F1 World Championship. The collection included his Tyrell P34 six-wheeler and his championship winning Ferrari 312 T4.
There were also two paddocks showing everything from autocross, historic rally, stadium super trucks and Le Mans to drift and movie cars.
The new DBS Superleggara Volante was on the track. It has a top speed of 211mph and a V12 twin-turbocharged engine. It’s the fastest convertible Aston.

Also new for 2019 was StarFest – your opportunity to get up close and personal with a selection of legends such as Rob Brydon, Roger Daltrey, Rick Astley, Ricky Wilson, Sharleen Spiteri, James Martin, Tom Kerridge, Prue Leith, Jody Schekter and Jason Plato.
