Soto is an exciting new concept delivering garden collections to your door.
It fills the space between using a garden designer, which is out of reach for many, and DIY. People want a curated look still and Soto aims to do this at an affordable price.
It’s run by garden designer Will Williams who has five RHS medals (two Gold) and the plants are grown and delivered by Hampshire nursery Hortus Loci who are well known for supplying plants to Chelsea Flower Show‘s Gold Medal winning gardens.
The idea is you you are able to create a considered look for your garden and one tailored for the conditions that you have such as sunny or shady and there are several collections to choose. The plants are chosen to give year-round interest and a look that will last for years.
Mark Straver, CEO of Hortus Loci said: “To have a designer-led collection of really lovely plants that’s there for you ready to go is perfect for someone one who doesn’t know much about plants but wants to have the look.”
Will Williams said: “Our pot sizes are much bigger so you get a much larger and fuller plant – things that I’d use in my garden design work. We’re really looking for the wow moment when you open the box.”
“It’s important to get the right plant for the right place.”
“In effect, we give you the ingredients and show you the recipe.”
“The really important thing for me is making sure everything’s prepared properly and on the website we have the Soto journal which includes blogs and master classes, how-to’s and tips from the industry. It’s a bit of insider knowledge.”
The packaging is all bespoke and 100% recyclable and the compost is peat free.
